My agent and I share a google calendar.
It tells us both what I’m working on.
It filled all the way up till August!
There are also gaps in the calendar for breaks.
Making something from nothing is the difficult part of the job, the planning, and the sketching.
Turning the roughs into a final product is the most time-consuming part but relatively easy.
The other type of work is editing and working on the client’s feedback.
I try to overlap the different types of work, and always one will be on the front burner and the other on the back burner.
I’m slowly writing a comics pitch on the side, especially during downtime waiting for feedback.
I’m also always learning, but I try to time my learning to map with the work I’m doing.
Having this calendar figured out gives me peace of mind. I know when I CAN accept work and when I CAN’T. It helps me schedule my week and days to focus only on what’s right in front of me.
