Word of the week. This word will help you get more out of every day, and unlock a huge chunk of your time. Today’s newsletter also includes a prompt for application.
I have also been teaching this morning and I read and follow up on emails while my students are working in smaller groups. I also tend to prepare my following class while they work so this way, I can dedicate my time to other projects when I am not teaching.
1. I bring my kids with me to the Art Museum. I sketch while I teach my kids how to look at things (I must admit I learn more from them than they learn from me!) + great family moments. I also bring them to sketch at the botanical garden: I sketch, they sketch + fresh air and they play outside.
2. I take walks every day (almost). I always plan a usual stop somewhere: bank, bakery, grocery store. I get fresh air, I get to walk, and I cross something off my to-do list. I also listen to some podcasts or the news at the same time.
1. My main job is sewing, so I always have online class videos or audiobooks or podcasts playing. That way I'm always learning something new while I do production sewing.
2. My 365 sketch list was compiled based on projects I want to work on for 2022. That way I can always be inching forward and thinking about those projects, gathering research and having it take up space in my brain every day while taking the pressure off by doing a 5-10 minute observational sketch.
3. I read physical books while I stop to eat. This helps me to slow down and truly feel like I'm taking a break, while also enjoying the pleasure of reading books vs. listening to audiobooks.
4. When I am selling work at conventions and craft fairs, I always prep a bunch of hand work that I can do at the show (turning small pieces right side out, stuffing small pieces, etc.) This way, I get to work on some of the tedious parts of the job, making the time useful. It's also work that I can do while I talk to people, and it starts a conversation. I can show people my process and talk about craft while selling my work. It takes any pressure off and puts me at ease for having conversations.
haha this has been great! I am currently twofering by teaching, drawing and replying to you!

Loving this topic again!

3. Cooking with kids: family time + we all eat.
I'm all about doing two things at once:
