Unhurried

Have you ever tried working unhurriedly? Slowly, Taking your time, in the positive sense of the phrase. We live in a culture of speed and effectiveness. But we also ‘ARE’ the culture. May be we can be different, and maybe that could change the culture.

It’s Wednesday.

I’m working on a Transmundane Tuesday

drawing prompt, which I will double up as a kidlitartpostcard

for Thursday

  1. I’m working on a portable desk

today, moving from couch to couch to reading room arm chair.

Portable Desk, on the kids play mat

I’m accompanied by the relaxing sound of an air conditioner technician servicing the air-con’s. And for today at least the nursery rhymes have been replaced by my wife’s chillout playlist.

I’m working slowly. And steadily.

A sentence here. A thumbnail there. Unhurried. Like a bee buzzing around a flower. One moment away, soon back again, sipping sweet nectar.

Monthly drawing prompt by Carson Ellis, this one resonated with me.

‘Postcards are dead, aren’t they, said one Art Director to another. True story. But #kidlitartpostcards are a great alternative.

Okay it’s an IKEA bedtray, but who really has breakfast in bed, ever, huh?

"Working unhurried" really resonates with me today. This week I've added 3 items to my daily to-do list for art. I feel accomplished that I'm making steady progress with small, "unhurried" steps. So it's reassuring that others work this way too!
