Side A

The 100 day project starts today and I wanted to point you to some of projects that I’ll be following:

Chantelle holt is an amazing draftswoman of an illustrator. She put in an enormous amount of energy in to her self education and projects. She is also wacky as heck! Follow her project on Instagram and her process on her newsletter.

Next up is Damjana Loddelina, who will be doing a series of icons following the French alphabet. Damjana has a sweet and sensitive rendered style.

Next up, Kavita Rajput is an amazing water colourist and I’m really excited about her alphabet project that combines animal characters and vehicles, a favourite subject of mine.

Next up, we have Jen Gubicza, who will be doing quick Dino Drawing for 100 days. What I find amazing about Jen’s work is she really accumulates a ton of great drawings and spends very little time on them!

Side B

Chantelle, Damjana, Jen and Kavita part of a ‘secret’ club along me and 9 others. We call ourselves “The Guild of Children’s book Illustrators”. It’s only secret in that we’re not accepting members. It originally started out as a critique group but over time we’ve started sharing resources and encouragement and success! One by one the guild members are starting to work on books and other interesting projects. The guild is bound together by a common love for learning and a drive to relentlessly pursue a career as authors or illustrators.

I share this just to encourage you to ‘find the others’ and band together. In my experience this creates an accelerated journey for all involved. One place to find the others will be in #the100dayproject
