👋 Hi, I’m reading “Several short sentences about writing”. The following is a note about what I remember so far from about an hour of reading. I’ve not thought much about sentences since primary school. I did not think a lot about them then. I feel like a fish that has just realised the importance of water.
📝 The sentence
The sentence says it's piece then leaves the stage.
Words tell us the what of things.
Sentences tell us the meanings of things.
Sentences are the building blocks of thought.
For a thought to be a great thought, it has to be made of great sentences.
The sentence is mighty! A well-crafted sentence can convey a lot of information and change the outcome of a story or even the world.
Also, I love the illustration!
I really like that illustration too! And the thoughts on the sentence. Yet again your email has got me thinking.
