Have you ever been pushed to your limits, of close to? If you haven’t, I recommend it. Just to know what it feels like.
An example of being pushed to your capacity is you do 50 push ups and it feels like you can’t do anymore. And so you tell your gym instructor, and he says: “Nonsense, give me 20 more, “I’ll count”, and he counts you to 50.
So I was wrong, 50 is not my capacity, it seems I can actually go to hundred, maybe more.
Another example is going to do a trade show in New Jersey, Chicago, Texas or Florida. Flying 30 hours to get there, setting up your booth and spending all day on your feet talking to 600-1000 people, 8 at at a time. Then going for networking events and making new contacts. Then going back to an air bnb or hotel and emailing all the new contacts. In between you take meetings with potential partners and investors. And this goes on for 5 days, before you take another 30 hour flight to get home.
So I’ve done that, and know that that is within my capacity. And I’m thankful that when I was part of a start-up I was pushed to do that.
I’ve not worked that hard in years, but I know if I need to, it’s in me. And compared to that, most days are a walk in the park.
Have you done something that pushed you to your capacity? Would you?
