Hold water
This was a breakthrough piece for me. Building shapes in brushes, before erasing unwanted bits even ‘drawing’ some lines with an eraser.
Then I would paint directly onto a clipping mask of the shape.
This style was then refined in class with the help of hundreds of other illustrators, and a handful of directions from the instructors.
I allowed myself to be shaped by the experience. And once I was, I kept that shape.
There is a time to be molded, and a time to hold water.
