I’ve completed illustrations for 3 Books this year.
One is out in November. (Buy it please.)
One is waiting for final Notes from the Editor and Author.
One’s got all the edits done, and we’re looking to start working on book 2.
Besides that, there are 2 more books that are scheduled to start by November.
But right now…
all the balls are in the publishers court.
Still the work goes on…
I’ve scheduled my ‘Studio Time’ for the week.
And I’ve made a list of ‘Studio Goals’.
The trouble is… there’s no way the Studio Goals can get done in the available Studio time, there’s just too many!
I guess I’ll have to give myself deadlines for my Studio Goals. I’ll have to negotiate with myself.
I’ll prioritise the list and start from the top.
In publishing, the team needs time to work, it’s good to have a plan for downtime.
My plan is to have the same number of studio hours as I do when I’m working on multiple books. Here’s the plan for those hours:
Reorganise studio
Reorganise files on computer
Work through courses (Comics, Sketchbooking, Lead generation)
Do a drawing challenge, Stinktober
Write a kids book/comic
Ongoing freelance illustrations
Prep work for future projects.
How do you spend the downtime?
Downtime.
Congratulations on the books Adam!!
