A note from the author Moira Butterfield
When a children's author writes text for an illustrated book it's a leap of optimism. Will we get an artist who understands what we want for our book? Will they light up the words? I was lucky enough to get paired with Adam, who really knows how to bring the world to life on the page. His characters and colours are very dynamic and appealing and he really knows how to tell a story with his images. In our new book we're encouraging children to look at animal feelings and their own too. Young readers will meet a crew of interesting creatures, from a scared lizard and a grumpy monkey to a playful octopus, an excited dog and lots of others. Thank you, Adam, for making them all such great company!
A note from the illustrator Adam Ming
Moira has written a beautiful fun fact filled text. And the team at Bloomsbury were such a joy to collaborate with. Together we hit the sweet spot we were looking for which is a book filled with animals that were both realistic yet characterful and full of emotion. I feel so blessed to be part of this amazing team and am really proud of what we made together.
