This is note 100/400
I set a target of 400 posts.
The goal is to talk about the gap between our tastes and our ability. It’s a goal and a moving target. Because as our ability improves, so does our taste.
It is a trait for humanity to aim for unattainable goals.
To strive for the highest possible good.
Taste is being in tune with what is good. It’s an appreciation for quality that is more sophisticated than what is apparent. The appreciation comes from our growing knowledge as we follow our tastes.
Our taste is like the route we take to discover more and more of what is good, and take on some of that goodness into ourselves, into our practice.
Perhaps another human trait is that we secretly believe we can attain that highest possible good. May I be so naive to think …
Maybe we can?
