Oh my. I think maybe gynecologist translates differently in different parts of the world. I know gynecologist as the doctor who deals with the health of female organs (annual PAP smear and the like), and an obstetrician as someone who delivers babies and helps with pregnancy issues, and OB/GYN as both.
