A decision can work for you. I save hundreds of hours a year by not deciding what to eat every day.

I save further hours by knowing where most of the files I need for work are.

If I post something on Instagram, the advantage is thousands of people might see it, the disadvantage is next week only 2 people might see it. It doesn’t last.

If I work on the SEO of my website, I’m helping people find me and discover what I do without doing any further work, and that web page is going to keep working for me1.

If I’m always asked the same question, writing a good post about it and pointing people to it means I’ll be answering the question perpetually without even being there.

It’s hard to build a habit like waking up early, but once you have it, it’s hard to break it, so every morning I’m virtually guaranteed a few uninterrupted hours to use as I please.

Decisions can work for you.

Habits can work for you.

And work can work for you.

Quest:

What is some work you could do today, that will keep working for you once you’ve finished working?

Side Quest:

What work would you stop doing if you could get the same results or better by doing something else?

This Idea of doing work that works for you came from listening to James Clear on the Tim Ferriss show, James said he doesn’t do radio shows anymore, because they are ‘gone tomorrow’ but a podcast stays, it’s like little versions of him talking all the time.
