We normally appreciate the commercial work of artist. Did they sacrifice some of their ‘art’ to make that product that we love, or did they fight to put as much of it in?
When you make art for money does it lose some of the ‘art’?
Can you put more ‘art’ in the art we make for money?
I think good art is like good conversation open and vulnerable, and being able to have as much of that openness and vulnerability in the work we do for others and with others will make sure most of ‘our art’ is transferred into the project
This is a great question. I notice this with myself. There's more freedom and room to play when I'm creating something for myself. When I'm creating something for someone else, there's the benefit of the deadline but also their vision does cause a shift in style and direction. So some of my own direction isn't there, so it does come out different.
